Ubong Thompson King is a security consultant, Motivational Speaker and Chairman of Protection Plus Services Limited (PPSL) a Corporate Security Services company, with headquarters in Lagos state. He is the past Chairman of The American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) International Chapter 202, Lagos Nigeria and the president of the Ubong King Foundation, a non-governmental organization.[1][2][3][4][5]

Early Life and Education[edit]

Ubong King was born in Obanikoro, Lagos State Nigeria on 22 August 1972 and attended the Federal Government College Lagos, where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate and proceeded to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture at the University of Calabar, Cross Rivers State, Nigeria.[6][1][5]

Career[edit]

Ubong King ventured into the security industry from a volunteer service in the protocol department of the church he attended at the time as a guard, and moved on to work at various security firms before establishing his Security business Protection Plus Services Limited which started in a corner of his bedroom but has turned into a successful business servicing several clients.[7][8]

As a security consultant, Ubong King has lend his voice severally on various security issues in Nigeria including issues on terrorism and Boko Haram[9][4][10][11]. He facilitates and speaks at various conferences within and outside Nigeria and has earned some honours for his contribution to the society.[12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22]

Ubong King Foundation

Ubong King founded the Ubong King Foundation in March 2017, a non-profit, non-governmental organisation. The Foundation Initiated an annual conference called Thinkation whose purpose is to inspire the infusion of the creative force of thinking into education. It's first edition was held on January 20, 2018 and had Jerry Rawlings the former head of state and president of Ghana deliver a recorded Keynote speech.[23][24][25][26][27]

The Ubong King Foundation held the second edition of Thinkation on the 19th of January 2019 where Sheri Riley an American actress, writer and empowerment speaker was the keynote speaker. The conference also had the High Commissioner of Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Wendell Vincent Carlton De Landro, Richard Mofe Damijo, Hibaq Abyan, Timi Dakolo, Steve Babaeko and a few other entrepreneurs.[28][29][30][31]

The Ubong King Foundation had its first Soccer Under 15 Ubong King's Cup in 2018 which was won with cash prizes by Glory FC, Oshodi.[32][33]

Personal life[edit]

He is married to Amb. Unyime Ivy- King, They have three daughters and a son. Ubong King is a Christian, together with his whole family.[34][35][7][36]
