The Uganda Floorball Association (UFA) is the national governing body for the sport of floorball in Uganda. It is registered with the National Council of Sports (NCS) and has been a member of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) since March 2016.[1][2]
History
Floorball was introduced to Uganda in 2015 by Robert Zimula, a Ugandan based in Sweden, who became the sport's founding figure in the country.[3] The UFA became the IFF's newest member association in March 2016 and subsequently worked to expand the sport beyond Kampala District into Wakiso District, including through school exhibitions and demonstration sessions.[4]
By 2019, the association had helped establish clubs in Entebbe, Katabi and Kitintale, expanding on its original base of clubs training in Kawempe, Nakasero and Nambole.[5]
In August 2021, the Swedish Floorball Association and one of its clubs, coordinated through UFA board member Robert Zimula, donated floorball sticks, balls, jerseys and bags to the association to support the sport's growth in Uganda.[6][7]
