Mr. Thani was born in Birendranagar Municipality of Surkhet District in the Mid-Western Development region of Nepal. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Pulchowk Engineering Campus, Tribhuvan University, in 2003. Thani continued his academic pursuits and earned a Master's degree in Water Resources Engineering from the same institution in 2013. He later obtained an MA in Sociology from Trichandra Campus, Tribhuvan University, in 2007, and an LLB from Nepal Law Campus, Tribhuvan University, in 2017.
