Unanswered Questions (Hangul: 그것이 알고싶다; RR: geugeosi algo sipda; MR: kŭgŏti alko sipta; lit. I Want to Know) is a South Korean investigative journalism program airing on SBS. Presented by Kim Sang-joong, the show deals with unsolved mysteries and current events. It airs every Saturdays at 11:10 pm KST.[1]
Background[edit]
It first aired on March 31, 1992 as a celebration of the network's first anniversary, with Moon Sung-keun as host. The pilot focused on the Lee Hyung-ho kidnapping case, which was also detailed in the film Voice of a Murderer. Other sensitive topics including the existence of UFOs and homosexuality were also tackled during its early years. It took a year off from September 23, 1995 to October 7, 1996 due to lack of content, returning a week later and has been broadcast ever since. The show's focus gradually shifted to political and social issues, which has now become its forte. Experts who regularly appear on the show include former National Assembly member and profiler Pyo Chang-won, criminal psychologist and Kyonggi University professor Lee Soo-jung, Sookmyung Women's University criminal psychology professor Park Ji-sun, and Seoul National University forensic medicine professor Yoo Seung-ho, among others.
