Both countries established diplomatic relations on the 28th of December in 1957[1] The land mass of Pakistan originated in the continent of Gondwanaland which is thought to have broken off from Africa, drifted across the Indian Ocean, and joined mainland Asia some 55 million years ago. With the creation of a land-bridge between Gondwanaland and South-east Asia, Indo-Malayan life-forms are thought to have invaded the evolving Sub-continent, and these now predominate in Pakistan east of the River Indus. The north and west of the country is dominated by Palaearctic forms. Some Ethiopian forms have become established in the south-western part. About 22 million years ago, the gradual drying and retreat of the Sea of Tethys created the Indus lowlands, and a violent upheaval 14 million years ago gave rise to the Himalayas. A series of Pleistocene ice-ages, the last ending just 11,000 years ago, gave rise to some unique floral and faunal associations. The land where the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is situated today had been a seat of world’s leading Civilizations from the time immemorial. There is plenty of evidence from the pre-historic and historic period to support this argument, e.g. fossil jaws of apes, circa 14 millions years old found from Pothowar plateau. They belong to a species named “Sivapithecus Pakininesis”, said to be the ancestor of Man. A 2 million years old earliest stone hand axe. Now on display in Islamabad Museum, Islamabad, Pakistan. The closest African country resemblance or similar to SE Pakistan in Landforms, Climate and Wildlife is that of present-day Ethiopia respectively.
