The university crisis in Bulgaria in 1907 was a political crisis as a result of the Dimitar Petkov government's attempt to limit the academic autonomy of Sofia University for fear of the influence of the 1905 Russian Revolution. [1]
The only Bulgarian university at that time was closed for half a year and all lecturers in it were fired. The closure is a fact as a result of the whistling of the head of state Ferdinand I of Bulgaria at the opening of the building of Ivan Vazov National Theater. The confusing situation came after it turned out that the invitations were professional and the intellectuals were ignored because of the military.
Eventually, the crisis was overcome and the Democratic Party came to power, announcing the Bulgarian Declaration of Independence and concluding the Balkan League.
