Untrusted is a social deduction game & multiplayer game for 10 to 16 players developed by Andrea Alessi. In Untrusted, hackers from the fictional NETSEC group are tasked with hacking a specific server on a computer network. NETSEC members must use their skills and wits to outsmart the undercover AGENTs that will try each night to perform arrests or have other players become snitches for them. It was released for Windows in May 2021.
Gameplay
In Untrusted, players are assigned one out of three factions: NETSEC, Agent, or Neutral. NETSEC’s primary objective is to hack the end node of the computer network, while agents are to stop NETSEC from achieving their objective either by arresting players at night or slowing their progress during the day. If this is done successfully, by the end of day 11 (or 12 if players have increased the game due to finding data on nodes), agents will have achieved their win condition and won the game. Neutral players have no common clear objective other than to survive until the end of the game (usually day 11 or 12), so neutral players usually align themselves with the side that has more players in order to survive.
Strategies, skills, rules & game mechanics are explained further in the game manual provided by the developer.
