Life and career
Rasic was born in 1996/1997 (age 28–29).[1] Rasic unsuccessfully stood for Brimbank City Council in 2016 Victorian local elections, in the Taylors ward.[1][2] Then 19, Rasic was the youngest candidate amongst the ward's twenty-three candidates.[1]
When Natalie Hutchins, the Labor MP for Sydenham, announced her retirement in October 2025, Rasic, a former staffer to Hutchins, nominated for Labor preselection in Sydenham.[3] Rasic is a union official and, according to ministerial disclosure diaries, is affiliated with the Australian Workers Union.[4][5][6] Rasic was selected as the Labor candidate for Sydenham in March 2026.[citation needed] He was successful at the state election, succeeding Hutchins to become the MP for Sydenham.
