Daniel Brummitt is an American privacy engineer, infrastructure architect, independent publisher, multimedia artist, and psychiatric survivor advocate based in Detroit, Michigan.

Social Media Research

During the 2022 Depp v. Heard civil defamation trial, Brummitt and co-author Christina Taft conducted on-site research into coordinated bot activity targeting Amber Heard. The Independent named and quoted both researchers in their trial coverage. BBC News covered the broader bot findings. Their research was compiled into Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp & Bots.[1][2]

Advocacy

Brummitt is co-founder and lead of Strategic Operations for the Everyday Psych Victims Project (EPVP), established in August 2016. By July 2018, EPVP had grown to over 3,500 Facebook followers, over 3,300 Twitter followers, and over 270 YouTube subscribers. He has been featured in Mad in America for his psychiatric survivor advocacy and runs the #PsychiatricCoercion campaign.[3]
