Narendra Kumar Singh is a cinematographer who has moved from Kollywood to Bollywood. He has operated the camera in dozens of movies, including documentaries, music videos, television shows, and telefilms. He is currently known as an established cinematographer.

Narendra also went to India and returned to Nepal after gathering almost a decade of experience in this field. Narendra, who returned to Nepal after working as a cinematographer for a decade in India, has succeeded in gaining recognition as an established cinematographer. He was born in 2037 BS Nibuwatar Village Panchayat-6 (currently Bhimfedi Rural Municipality-4) of Makwanpur District. Singh started his primary education at the then Sri Saraswati Primary School. After studying there until class 5, he graduated from Sri Mahendra Secondary School in Bhimfedi. Passed SLC 2055 BS. After that, he entered Kathmandu with the hope of working in the film industry along with his higher education studies. He met Dwevaman Gurung in Kathmandu. He told Devman that he was willing to work in the film industry. Devman introduced him to senior cameraman MS Michael. Narendra worked with MS Michael for about a year. Narendra met artist Kishore Anurag in the course of his work. Narendra got a chance to learn documentary shooting with Anura. In the same vein, the documentary shot by Narendra was edited by another senior cinematographer, Man Bahadur Thapa. After that, with the encouragement of Man Bahadur, Narendra started working with him. Narendra says, ‘Man Bahadur sir has made a big contribution in bringing me here. Thus, Narendra worked with Man Bahadur for a long time. After that, Narendra, who is skilled in making documentaries, entered the cinematography profession. Since then, he has made dozens of documentaries, more than 7 dozen music videos, four TV movies, including ‘Gurumantra’, ‘Lau Mayo, many commercials, ‘Shikar’, ‘Rajya’, ‘Daud’, ‘Bhimaraja’ etc. movies, ‘Sahayatra’, ‘Kanchuli’, ‘Lou Mayo’, Gurumantra and many other famous television shows. In this way, he played the role of a skilled cinematographer in many television programs. He has also filmed many programs related to health.

After that, Narendra wanted to become an international cameraman. He came to know that there is Nepali cameraman named Vinod Pradhan in India for that. He went to India to gain knowledge. Looking at this on the internet, Nepali cameraman Vinod Pradhan is also from Mumbai, India. So Narendra went to Bombay. However, Narendra could not meet Vinod as soon as he reached Mumbai, India. He started working with other Nepali friends in India for two years. After doing two jobs, Narendra met Vinod Pradhan.

Before that, he got a chance to shoot a Hindi movie song called ‘Nari’, ‘Teri Shakti Anukhi’ and some TV commercials. Two years after moving to Mumbai from Nepal, Narendra met Vinod Pradhan. After meeting Vinod, Narendra was emotional and happy that his Dho was completed.

When he met the famous Nepali cinematographer Pradhan of Bollywood, the door of his dream opened. After that, Narendra got a chance to work as his assistant in Hindi movies like ‘Two States’, ‘Bhaag Milka Bhaag’, ‘Ranjo’. Narendra has filmed in TV programs like Saavdhan India, Police File, Jhalak Dikhhlaaz, a dozen documentaries, 5-7 TV movies, more than three dozen TV commercials, a dozen movies, and 50-60 music videos.

Then Narendra came to Nepal to spend his skills, knowledge, ability, and experience. He has been in the cinematography profession for almost 25 years. During this period, many Nepalese and Indians have become his disciples. Narendra’s 25 years of experience in cinematography, he has shot documentaries of many public awareness programs in the field of health. In this regard, Narendra has made many public awareness documentaries in the fields of awareness programs, street plays, child health, women’s health and rural health.
