Established in 2010 and registered as a Kenyan organization in 2012, the Ustadi Foundation (meaning "skilful" in Swahili) is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing capacity development (CD) at the sub-national level in Kenya. Founded [1]by the Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV), the International Humanist Institute for Cooperation with Developing Countries (HIVOS), and a consortium of 21 local institutions, Ustadi aims to address systematic bottlenecks in the Kenyan CD landscape.
