V523 Cassiopeiae is a short-period eclipsing contact binary star system of W Ursae Majoris type located in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It is one of the shortest-known orbital periods for a non-degenerate eclipsing binary, making it an important object for studies of low-mass contact binary evolution and magnetic activity[3]
