V Aravind Subramanyam

V.Aravind Subramanyam or "Sastha Aravind" as he is fondly called is a researcher on "Shastha Cult". He is an author. His first book is an extensive research study published in the form of Tamil Purana on Lord Maha Sastha or Dharma Shastha called "Maha Shastha Vijayam". For this he was chosen as the Personality of the week back in January 2009 from "The Hindu"[1]. His extensive research on the worship of lord Ayyapa or Shastha has earned him the name "Sastha Aravind". He has been the go-to resource for anything related to The Lord of the Shabari Hills. He has been vocal with regard to upholding the traditions of Shabarimala and is actively involved with the case. He is a strong supporter of "People for Dharma".[2]

Initial Research and Further into Spirituality

He was on a mission to search for his favorite "Lord Shastha" since the age of 13. After about 13 years of exhaustive research, he authored his first book. This research led him to many other deities, Shakthi Worship, Indian culture and the Truths of Sanathana Dharma. These studies led him to be a speaker on the subject and he has been on the list of distinguished speakers for various events across the world. He has also been an active writer in various weeklies relating to the subject Sanathana Dharma. The book "Women and Shabarimala - The Science behind restrictions" [3] by Ms. Sinu Joseph contains the details of Shat Chakras of Shastha worship which was based on his research. He is a popular writer and contributor to various spiritual magazines.[4][5]

Other Books and Orations.

He has to his credit various books and rare commentaries which he had collected over the years. One such book is the "Boothanatha Geetha" in English which is similar to the Bhagvat Geetha in text. It is the Samvadham or talk between the Lord Boothnatha and his disciple. This is a rare text which he happened to accumulate and publish. His list of other books are mentioned for reference:

Personal life

He is an MBA graduate, Management consultant and Quizzer by profession. He is also a Liberal Arts part-time Faculty in many colleges across India.
