Jerry Bostleman serves as co-founder and CEO[2], with majority ownership belonging to Olympus Partners, a Stamford, CT private equity firm[3]

History[edit]

Jerry Bostleman started Vaco Resources in 2002 as a sole proprietor[4] but later in 2004 came together with Brian Waller and Jay Holloman to start Vaco.

Vaco is a latin verb meaning to free oneself from a master[5] which informed the creation of the company mission: to free employers of the tedious and frustrating hiring process, and to free candidates from landing in jobs that were not for them.

In 2006, Vaco Supply Chain Solutions was founded as a subsidiary in Richmond, VA.[6] With the acquisition of MEBC Global, Vaco Supply Chain Solutions became Plantensive in April 2019.

In September 2014, Vaco underwent a recapitalization in partnership with Quad-C, a middle-market private equity firm.[7] Through Quad-C's tenure, Vaco acquired 7 other companies and expanded internationally, both in India and Canada.[8]

In November 2017, private equity firm Olympus Partners[9] acquired Vaco from Quad-C.[10]

Since its founding, Vaco has grown to 40 offices across the globe, 820+ employees, and a network of more than 4,300 consultants. Vaco has been named to Inc. magazine’s list of the fastest-growing private companies for the past 12 years.[11]
