Valandre Laguna Chauca is a Filipino-Peruvian professional basketball player of the Muntinlupa Angelis Resort - EOG Sports. He also played for the Adamson Soaring Falcons in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for a season.
Early Career[edit]
Chauca played first for the NCAA Division I California Golden Bears. He had played for two years in California before a wrist injury ended his career as a junior. Then, in his senior year, he was cut from the squad without any explanation. The California Golden Blogs state that all along Chauca had been struggling with depression. Enderun Colleges, a McKinley Hill institution, was the ideal setting for him to rehabilitate himself. At that time, he was on the verge of signing with the De La Salle University Green Archers, which would have prevented him from making the trip to McKinley Hill.[1].
Chauca joined the Adamson men's basketball team for one year in UAAP Season 82 with his teammate Jerrick Ahamisi, who's also playing in his final year, and Jerom Lastimosa, who's playing in the second year. However, the team already eliminated itself from the elimination round with a record of 4 wins and 10 losses[2]
Professional Career[edit]
After Chauca left the Adamson Soaring Falcons and immediately joined the 2019 PBA Draft, he was selected by the TNT Tropang Giga. He was also traded to Blackwater Bossing in 2021 before he joined the Muntinlupa Angelis Resort - EOG Sports of the Filbasket in 2022.
