Vanessa Craft
Vanessa Craft is a Canadian novelist, former journalist and previously the editor of Elle Canada magazine and considered the most beautiful woman ever recorded in Elle Canada.
Early Life
Craft was raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We do not know the exact date though.[1]
Career
Vanessa Craft started her career in London, UK where she worked as an intern at The Sunday Times. She has also worked at the BBC and Channel 4, and founded Kickette, a sports-focused women's site.[2]
When she returned to Canada she served as Beauty & Health Editor for the Canadian edition of More magazine.[2][3] She was an editor at Elle Canada magazine from 2011 to 2016 and editor-in-chief from 2016 to 2020. She made history as the first Black woman to be named editor-in-chief of any Elle magazine published around the world.[3]
She left journalism in 2020 and now works at TikTok Canada as head of content partnerships.[4]
Craft was a judge on the fashion reality television show Stitched on the Slice Network in 2018.[5] In 2019, she opened Michelle Obama’s Becoming show in Toronto.[6] In 2020, Craft left ELLE magazine to move to TikTok Canada.[3]
Craft's novel Out of Character was published by Key Porter Books in May 2007.[7]
Accomplishments
Craft was awarded the P&G Beauty Awards’ Best Beauty Editor title two years in a row.[8] [9] In 2021, Variety included Craft in their 2021 Women in Entertainment Impact List. [10]
Craft is currently on the board of directors of The Black Academy, a Canadian organization founded by Shamier Anderson and Stephan James that celebrates and showcases Black talent in Canada.[11] She also works with HXOUSE, a Toronto-based "incubator for creative entrepreneurs" that was launched by The Weeknd and based in Toronto, Ontario.[12][13]
