From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Vanessa Getty (born 1972) is an American philanthropist, animal welfare advocate, and arts patron based in San Francisco, California. She is the founder of San Francisco Bay Humane Friends, an organization she established in 2005 under the umbrella of the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA to address pet overpopulation in underserved Bay Area communities. The organization's mobile spay-neuter and vaccination clinic — the first of its kind in the region — has performed more than 9,500 free surgeries since its founding and continues to operate across the Bay Area. Getty serves on the Board of Directors of the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA and has been involved with the organization for nearly two decades.

A longtime supporter of amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, Getty received the organization's Award of Courage for her sustained contributions to AIDS research fundraising. She has served on the Board of Trustees of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, which encompasses the de Young Museum and the Legion of Honor, and served as honorary co-chair of the institution's annual Mid-Winter Gala. She is also a supporter of the Orangutan Foundation International.

Getty is widely recognized as one of San Francisco's most prominent fashion figures, having appeared on Vanity Fair's International Best-Dressed List in 2014 and receiving recognition from Harper's Bazaar and leading Bay Area publications across more than two decades. She created the PURR Sale in 2008, a luxury fashion fundraiser that raised a combined $500,000 across two events, with proceeds directed entirely to the Peninsula Humane Society's mobile outreach program.
