Nguyễn Việt Anh (born January 22, 1993), commonly known as Vanh Leg, is a Vietnamese YouTuber and music artist. He is famous for his parody music products on his YouTube channel.
Life and career
Nguyễn Việt Anh born on January 22, 1993 in Hanoi, Vietnam. Showing his piano playing ability at a young age, he started composing in 2009 when he joined the underground band NS Band, which was then known to young people in Hanoi. He opened a YouTube channel called Vanh Leg in 2011, starting to upload parody songs featuring NS Band and some other characters, as well as covering popular pop songs such as "Thời gian sẽ trả lời", "Bụi bay vào mắt", "Mình yêu nhau đi". In 2013, his parody songs were widely shared on social media, earning him the title "King of Parody Songs".
Vanh Leg became an internet phenomenon in June 2014 when he released the video "Em của mùa World Cup" a parody of Sơn Tùng M-TP's song "Em của ngày hôm qua" in collaboration with Đỗ Duy Nam. The video garnered over 200,000 views in just 9 hours and received positive feedback for its lyrics, which were considered humorous, topical, and a warning about the negative aspects surrounding the 2014 FIFA World Cup. By December 11th of the same year, "Em của mùa World Cup" had over 16.3 million views and was the most-watched video on Vietnamese YouTuber in 2014. In August 2014, he released his debut music video, "Thuộc về nhau" which was praised for its professional production compared to his previous parody songs. In November of the same year, his channel reached 100,000 subscribers, earning him the Silver Play Button Creator Award.
