Varun Sardesai (born 23 September 1992) is an Indian Politician from the Maharashtra state of India and the maternal cousin of Aaditya Thackeray, President of Yuva Sena - youth wing of Shiv Sena.[1][2] He is currently the General Secretary of Yuva Sena.[3][4][5]

Political Career[edit]

Sardesai started his political journey by leading the Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation elections. [6]

He led an agitation at the Government Polytechnic College, Bandra after the principal reportedly issued show-cause notices to eight students, who erected a political hoarding outside campus and put the name of the college. The agitation forced the principal of Bandra College to apologize to students.[7]

Sardesai is known to play an active role in vouching for better rights of the student community. He was an active member in organizing the agitation led by Yuva Sena President Aaditya Thackeray against the Education Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Vinod Tawde.[8][3]

Initiatives taken

Sardesai began the initiative of conducting Mock Tests; throughout the State of Maharashtra for students appearing in entrance tests for various graduation programs.[9] [8]
