Vaso 'Psychopath' Bakočević, (born August 10, 1989) is a Montenegrian mixed martial artist who competes in the Lightweight division. He is the biggest MMA star in Montenegro and Eastern Europe.

Mixed martial arts career[edit]

Early career[edit]

Bakočević started his professional MMA career in 2010, competing primarily in the European circuit, and amassed a record of 9—1—1 before being signed by the WFC in 2012.

Bellator MMA[edit]

In May 2018, it was announced that Bakočević[1] would make his debut for Bellator.[2]

In his debut, Bakočević faced Andrey Koreshkov on July 14, 2018 at Bellator 203.[3] He lost the fight via knockout due to a spinning back kick to Bakočević's mid-section early in the first round.[4]

KSW[edit]

Bakočević made his Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki debut at KSW 28: Fighters Den[5] October 4, 2014 against Maciej Jewtuszko, losing after being knocked out by a front kick to body & punches in the Third round.

He then fought Artur Sowinski at KSW 29: Reload[6] where he lost via split decision.[7]

At KSW 33: Khalidov vs. Materla, he faced Anzor Azhiev where he lost to his only ever submission lost via Arm triangle choke in the third round.[8]

Megdan fighting[edit]

Bakočević made his debut at Megdan Fighting at the very first event Megdan Fighting - Megdan 1[9] april 22, 2017 where he faced Stefan Zvijer and won a unanimous decision for the Megdan Lightweight title.

Bakočević next faced Jivko Stoimenov on April 26, 2018 at Megdan Fighting 3 - Serbia vs. Russia. He won the fight via TKO in the second round.

Bakočević then faced former UFC Lightweight Championship contender Hermes Franca on March 15, 2019 at Megdan Fighting 4 - Selected. He won the fight via TKO during the second minute of the first round.[10]

Bakočević faced Sultan Kalamakhunov at Megdan Fighting 5 - Young Knights on Jun 27, 2019. He won the fight by knockout in the first round.
