Vector Technology Institute (VTI) is a privately held tertiary educational institution located in Kingston, Jamaica. It is registered as a tertiary institution:[1] by the University Council of Jamaica which also accredits three of its programs[2], including the Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology.
History[edit]
Vector Technology Institute evolved from the training department of Vector Design Limited (VDAS) which was established in 1983 as a computer sales, service and consulting company in Kingston, Jamaica. The training department of Vector Design Limited (VDAS) was created in part due to the lack of highly skilled and certified computer technicians in the information technology industry. With time and the continued growth of the information technology industry in Jamaica, it became clear that there was a need to provide training and education to individuals within the Information Technology field and in 1993, Vector Technology Institute was established to do so.
Management[edit]
Vector Technology Institute is governed by a seven (7) member board of governors[3] which also includes: The President (Dr. Wayde Warr) and The Executive Director (Mrs. Karen Marr-Bruce). The Board of Governors led by the chairman (Mr. Raphael Barrett) provides support and guidance to the management group in establishing policies and goals for the institution.
