Venkat (born 18 July 1971) is an Indian film public relations officer (PRO) who primarily works in the Tamil film industry. He began his career as a rhythm player in stage dramas and light music performances before entering the film industry as an assistant to veteran publicist Glamour Krishnamurthy. Over the course of his career, he has been associated with the publicity and promotion of more than 300 films.
Early life
Venkat was born on 18 July 1971 in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India. He developed an interest in music and stage performances at an early age and worked as a rhythm player in stage dramas and light music orchestras.
Career
Venkat entered the Tamil film industry as an assistant to veteran film publicist Glamour Krishnamurthy. During this period, he was involved in publicity activities for several notable Tamil films, including Kaathala Kaathala, Hey Ram, Pudhaiyal, Iruvar, Kalki, Tamil Selvan, Selva, Vallarasu, Ulavuthurai, and Vallal. He also worked on publicity campaigns for films directed by Rama Narayanan.
After gaining experience in film publicity, Venkat began working independently as a film public relations officer. He has handled media relations and promotional campaigns for numerous Tamil films, including Galatta Ganapathy, Azhagu Nilayam, Madhavanam, Malarvizhiyum, Madurai Mani Kuravar, Dandupalayam, Priyamudan Priya, and Panai Thottali.
Throughout his career, he has worked with leading actors, directors, producers, and production houses in the Tamil film industry and has contributed to the promotion of over 300 films.
