Ventusky is a Czech meteorological company founded in 2016 and based in Plzeň. Ventusky is focusing on weather forecasting and meteorological data visualization of weather data from around the world. Ventusky allows the user to interactively and in real-time monitor the weather development for any location on Earth. It is used especially for hurricane tracking.[1]
The name itself, Ventusky, is a combination of two words. The first is the Latin word, Ventus, which means wind, and the second is the English word, Sky. The platform focuses on displaying detailed meteorological data and their visualization. It offers data from both global and regional models. The main provider of meteorological data for Ventusky is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Germany's Deutscher Wetterdienst, however the radar layers have many other country-specific sources.[2]
