Vibha Tandon

Prof. Vibha Tandon is an Indian scientist and academician known for her contributions to the field of chemistry and molecular medicine. She currently serves as the Director of CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Biology and has previously held the position of Chair Professor at the Special Centre for Molecular Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi, India.

Vibha Tandon was born on July 1, 1968. She is married.

Education

Vibha Tandon completed her Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, Zoology, and Botany from T.D. College, Gorakhpur University in 1984, where she achieved first-class honors in both previous and final examinations. She then pursued a Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from the same institution in 1986, again securing first-class honors. In 1991, she earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Allahabad, India. Her doctoral thesis focused on the synthesis of sequential oligonucleotides using special protecting groups under the supervision of Prof. Krishna Misra.
