Victoria Beltran
Victoria Beltran is an American transgender actress and model most known for her non-speaking cisgender role in 2012's The Dictator. She has a supporting role in the upcoming crime-comedy/mystery film, Deadman's Barstool.
Early life[edit]
Victoria was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. She began taking hormones at age fourteen after having always felt like a woman rather than a man. She had even shaved her head and wore men's clothes to resemble a male but it didn't feel right to her. Beltran's parents were accepting of her gender identity, however her father took longer to "come around" than her mother.[1]
Career[edit]
Victoria began modeling after moving to New York at age eighteen.[2] She began acting professionally in 2010 with background roles in movies such as: Sex and the City 2, The Sitter, and Men in Black 3 to name a few. After appearing in 2012's The Dictator, Beltran was outed for being transgender; having not previously disclosed this with her casting agency. Following this, Beltran perfected her craft by taking LGBTI acting classes; through the classes she met Laverne Cox and was able to be cast in the crime-comedy/mystery film, Deadman's Barstool in her first supporting role.
Personal life[edit]
Beltran was married to Brett Bergmann but divorced; citing adultery as the cause for the divorce.[3]
