Victoria Grosu
Victoria Grosu was born on 22 November 1985 in Chisinau, Moldova. At the time of her birth, Moldova was known as the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic. Her family consisted of workers and was of Moldovan origin. Her mother, Olga, worked at the Steaua Roșie garment factory, while her father, Petru, worked at Chisinau Wine as a truck-wagon attendant. Victoria was the third and youngest child of the Grosu family, with an older brother, Aurel, and an older sister, Stela. Her native language was Romanian, and she was also fluent in Russian, Greek, French and English.
Early years and settlement in Greece
During high school, in addition to her studies, she was involved in the makeup industry. During the years 2010 and 2011, she often traveled from France to Greece, either with her family or with friends. In 2011, she took the decision to settle permanently in Greece, in the city of Drama.
Studies & Career Start
Victoria Grosu was a student at the Romanian-French Theoretical High School Gh. Asachi in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. She completed her schooling in 2004 and then went on to study International Economic Relations at ASEM University in Moldova from 2004 to 2008.
In 2006, during her student years, she started to attend make-up courses and worked as a consultant in cosmetics shops. In her last year of her studies, she did her internship at the Embassy of Moldova and at the same time improved her skills in French.
The following year, she started her postgraduate studies at the Institut des Hautes Études Européennes in Strasbourg. In 2005 she worked with a modeling agency in Moldova as a model, participating in several catwalks, and in 2009 she started her studies at the Ecole Européenne De Beauté, from which she graduated.
During her studies, she worked as a sales consultant at Vizaje-Nica in Chisinau, which hosted various cosmetics brands. She then worked for Chanel, attending training courses provided by the company.
Career since 2010 and beyond
In 2010 Victoria Grosu moved to Drama and started working in the beauty industry. During this time, she offered free makeup twice a week at a local salon. At the same time, she offered lash lift and eyelash extension services, which were her main income.
In 2012, she started working with Atelier de Paris, through which she opened the first makeup school in Drama and had her first students.
In December 2013, she married George Pazarlis. During this period, she organized beauty events with makeup presentations that had an impressive impact. At the end of 2013, she decided to dissolve her partnership with Atelier de Paris and set up her own school. Pera Novacovici, a business-life coach from Romania, was the person who helped her find her way professionally.
Victoria Grosu, with the help of her brother and the support of her husband, managed to raise the amount needed for the foundation of the beauty school in Drama. The school was named Beauty Training Center by Victoria Grosu (BTC Dramas) and was a place with advanced facilities and equipment to provide high quality beauty education. Over time, BTC Dramas became recognized for the quality of education it provided and the expertise of its graduates. Students attending the school's programs had the opportunity to learn from experienced instructors and gain hands-on experience through partnerships with professional beauty salons.
Victoria Grosu engaged in an innovative approach, creating an environment that encourages students to develop their skills and achieve their professional dreams. The school offered extensive training programs in various areas of beauty, including makeup, facials, hairdressing, nail art, and esthetics. It also provided suitable conditions for practical training and hands-on practice with real clients, so that students could gain practical experience and develop their skills in a real-life environment.
Victoria Grosu's beauty school in Athens opened its doors in September 2018. She personally curated the content of the programs and oversaw the training of the students, making sure they receive the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in their careers.
Victoria's beauty school in Athens quickly became recognized and gained a reputation for the quality of its programs and the expertise of its graduates. Students at the school were able to learn the latest makeup, skin, hair, and nail care techniques, as well as the business skills necessary to start their own businesses in the beauty industry.
Creation of the BTC Athens & BTC SKG school
In October 2020, BTC Athens[1] opened and in 2022, BTC SKG opened in Thessaloniki.
Innovation and vision
Victoria Grosu's pioneering achievement was the introduction of techniques such as the pencil technique and blended eyeliner in Greece, which changed the way makeup is done in the country. Also, in response to the challenges of the pandemic, Victoria pioneered the offering of online seminars, offering the opportunity to continue their education and development.
Health problems and death
Victoria Grosu had health problems from an early age, as she was very sensitive in her health. In the summer of 2015, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer and underwent an operation. In 2020, she was diagnosed with Familial Mediterranean Fever.[2] In February 2021, she underwent various medical tests as she experienced discomfort and severe pain in her abdomen and back. Initially, the clinical picture was not clear and despite the tests she had undergone, doctors were unable to make a definitive diagnosis. When she underwent laparoscopy, a rapid biopsy showed malignancy but also a very aggressive form of cancer. After trials with various regimens of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, on November 4, 2022, she passed away in the hospital[3]. Her final diagnosis was cancer of unknown primary (CUP)[4].
Seminars and awards
Victoria Grosu has always said that education never stops, which is why she often traveled abroad to be trained by top makeup artists such as Olga Tomina, Piminova, Taisa Vasileva, Julia Voron, Renata Abdulaeva, Pazit Horesh Saig, Nikitina, Apropo, Mario and others. Thus, she stayed up to date with new developments in the beauty industry. She also participated in exhibitions, masterclasses and workshops from 2012 to 2022 in Greece, Crete and Cyprus. Her goal was always to be ahead of the competition. In recent months she had expressed her desire to expand her activity to other areas besides makeup. Some of the points of record of her course are:
