The Zimbabwean pro-regime Sunday Mail editor.[1]. She gained traction on Twitter after, on the 18th of April 2021, she called Nelson Chamisa an errant child who deserves to be whipped into line.
Career
Victoria Ruzvidzo joined Zimpapers in June 1993 as a reporter. Ruzvidzo is the first female to head The Sunday Mail as an Editor[2]. Ruzvidzo significantly increased The Sunday Mail's contribution to the Digital and Publishing Division in the first few months after she had been appointed editor.
Ruzvidzo was one of the African women invited to the Forbes Africa Summit in Durban, South Africa, to deliberate on issues affecting women in 2019[3]. She is also a mentor under the US Embassy Public Affairs Women in Journalism Mentoring Programme and the Humanitarian Information Facilitation Centre (HIFIC) mentorship programme for young journalists[4].
Children
Ruzvidzo has two sons[5].
Awards
- March 2021, the award for balanced coverage of women’s issues in the media at the Red Lipstick Annual Business Achievers Awards.
- 29 March 2019, named runner-up in the Business Leadership Award in the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) Mashonaland Region category[4]
