Vignesh Vijayan is an Indian actor, fitness trainer and stand-up comedian [1] who works predominantly in Tamil films. He started his film career working as a background actor and playing minor supporting roles for a few years before playing in main and supporting roles. While working in an IT company he was actively involved in acting, screenwriting, as a performing artist in Stand-up comedy, mimicry and appeared in television shows as host and performer.
Career
Vignesh Vijayan made his silver screen debut through several junior artist roles including Spyder (film) directed by AR Murugadoss. Before that he was a performing artist and an entertainer in various television shows as an Anchor and performer that includes Vijay TV's lead comedy show Kalakka Povathu Yaaru,[2] (Season 08). He started his movie career with short films which includes late releases of RAA (2019) [3] produced by Venkat Prabhu, A Tamil mystery thriller directed by Pozhilan and Kalavu (2019 film) pilot film of Kalavum Katru Mara (2020),[4] [5] directed by Murali Karthick. His onscreen performances in his subsequent Web Series, Nila Nila Odi Vaa (2018),[6] directed by Nandhini JS. Time Enna Boss!? (2020) Directed by Subu, Police Diary 2.0 (2019),[7] directed by Vikarnan streamed on ZEE5. His onscreen performances in his subsequent films, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Pon Manickavel (film) (2021), FIR (2022 film) and D Block (film) (2022) made him to be considered as one of the known promising actors. Currently acting along with Prabhu Deva in MUSASI,[8] An action thriller cop film which is in its final schedule of filming.
Early life
Vignesh Vijayan was born in Ambasamudram in Tirunelveli, India. He completed his schooling from Velankanni Mat.Hr.Sec School, Chennai and graduated from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE), Sriperumbudur near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He later worked in Cognizant as a software engineer for 07 years. During college days and while working in corporate, he took part in various cultural events and performed mimicry and stand-up comedy on stage since 2009. He was also into competitive sports and fitness winning accolades in strength lifting and bodybuilding at State level. He is a Certified Personal fitness trainer while being introduced into the Tamil film industry.
