From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Vikram Gudi is a British-Indian award-winning music producer and multi-instrumentalist. He is the founder of Elephant Music, Mammoth Audio and co-founder of Split Music.

Education and Career[edit]

Born in Birmingham in 1983, Gudi was educated at King Edward's School, Witley and went on to get a BEng in Chemical Engineering from UCL.[1] A chance encounter with someone working in Synchronization rights led Gudi to a job with Imagem Music Group (then Boosey & Hawkes). Gudi worked in the Creative Development department at Imagem for 5 years, where he worked with the music of Daft Punk, MIA and Steve Reich and secured music placements with Sky, Nike, Shell and other brands.[2] He met composer Richard Schreiber in his first year there; the pair have continued to work as creative partners since meeting.[3] [4]

In 2012, Gudi left Imagem and moved to LA. He joined Immediate Music where he was hired by Yoav Goren to set up their advertising division.[5] Also in 2012, Gudi founded Elephant Music, a company specialising in music synchronisation for film trailers; his productions there have featured on Blade Runner 2049, Avengers: Endgame and A Quiet Place II.[6]

In 2015, Gudi founded Split Music with music supervisor Pete Saville.[7] Split Music is an experimental music publisher signing underground acts from the industrial and electronic scenes.[8]

In 2019, Gudi founded experimental virtual instrument company Mammoth Audio. They launched their first original instrument ‘Density’ in January 2020.[9] Also in 2020, Gudi launched online music school Protege with Schrieber to help producers and composers build stable careers from home.[10]

As a music producer, Gudi has produced over 700 songs, and has produced over 60 albums with Elephant Music, including ‘Piano Works 1-9’ with Richard Schreiber.[11]

Gudi has been the recipient of two Clio Awards - a Silver in 2018 for the Ready or Not (2019 film) trailer and a Bronze in 2019 for the A Quiet Place Part II trailer. Gudi and his companies have also received the Music & Sound Award three times, in 2016, 2018 and 2019, and two Golden Trailer Awards in 2018.[12] [13] [14]

Personal life[edit]

Gudi is the biggest individual donor to Reality Gives - a charity providing young people from underprivileged communities in India quality education and experiences to help them reach their potential.[15] Gudi is currently working with Reality Gives to start a music program.

A multi-intrumentalist, Gudi has performed with bands including Falling Majesties and Black Gold Buffalo, with whom he performed at Glastonbury Festival in 2011.[16]
