Villa Plus is a privately owned direct-to-consumer holiday company that offers villa holidays across a range of European countries including Spain, Portugal and Greece. The company is based in St Albans, England, where it was originally founded by Nicholas Cooper in 1986.

History

The company was set up in 1986 and operated from the spare bedroom of the founder, Nicholas Cooper. Between 1987 and 1996, the company operated as a specialist supplier of Algarve villas, with the number of contracted villas increasing from 10 to 35 and passenger numbers hitting 3,000 per year.

In 1996, Villa Plus was subject to an attempted takeover by rival holiday provider Something Special; however, the offer was rejected. In the same year, Villa Plus decided to expand their operations to the Costa del Sol, and by 2008 they were operating 750 villas and serving 70,000 customers a year. They now offer over 1,800 villas across 19 destinations in Europe.
