Villa Sound is a recording studio located in Singhampton, Ontario, Canada. It is owned and operated by Canadian producer and songwriter Tim Thorney and recording engineer Adam Fair..[1]

History[edit]

Villa Sound was founded in 2012, and was originally located in downtown Toronto. It now resides in Singhampton in a farm house built in the 1840's. In January 2015 Adam Fair purchased the house and converted it into a recording studio.[2] It is known and admired for its unique and creative atmosphere. Musicians have come from far and wide to work there.[3]

About[edit]

The studio houses a hybrid of new and old recording equipment.[4] At its center the studio has a Solid State Logic Matrix 2 console, with equipment from AMS Neve, API, Barefoot Sound, Neumann, Tree Audio. They also have a large collection of keyboards, guitars and amps. Some of which include a Heintzman & Co. grand and upright piano, Fender Rhodes, 1964 Fender Bassman, Echoplex, Moog Sub Phatty.[5]

Many artists have worked on projects at Villa Sound. Some of these artists include; DJ Shub[6] Valley[7], Joey Landreth, Hill Kourkoutis, Danny Weis, Randy Cooke [8] Shane Cloutier[9], Pablo Caputto [10], Midday Swim[11], Austin McCarthy[12], Shawnee [13] Villa Sound has also worked on projects for a variety of high-profile clients such as Sports Illustrated, EA Sports, Moët & Chandon.[14]
