Vinay Virmani (born January 24, 1985) is a Canadian actor, producer, writer and content creator and was born on January 24, 1985, in Toronto, Canada. Vinay is best known for his lead roles in his debut movie Breakaway and Dr. Cabbie.[1]
Career[edit]
Vinay made his feature film debut under the umbrella of First Take Entertainment with Breakaway, the story of a determined Canadian with South Asian roots, who struggles against traditional family values and discrimination from mainstream players to fulfill his dream to become a hockey star. Vinay wrote and played the lead role in Breakaway. The film was produced by Akshay Kumar.[2]
Vinay’s next venture was social comedy, Dr. Cabbie, where he starred with Kunal Nayyar.[3][4] Dr. Cabbie is the story of an unemployed Canadian immigrant who becomes a local hero when he turns his cab into a mobile underground clinic.[5][6] The film was produced by Salman Khan.[7][8]
A year later, Vinay starred in the Canadian movie, The Steps where he played the role of the adopted, pot smoking genius brother, Sam.
