Vira Konstantynova is a Ukrainian political analyst, specialist in international relations and foreign policy. The sphere of professional interests covers issues of international energy relations, geopolitics, and international security.

Bio

Vira Konstantynova was born in Mariupol, Donetsk region. In 2013, Ms. Vira Konstantynova achieved an MA in International Relations, graduating from Odesa I.I.Mechnikov National University as a foreign policy expert with advanced knowledge of Modern Greek & English. After graduation, she continued research as a postgraduate student at Mariupol State University, then in Kyiv.

She successfully passed several internships, including at the Mariupol City Council, the MFA of Ukraine, Ukrainian Parliament.

In 2013 she had a linguistic and cultural practice at the UCL (London, the UK). In 2015 she participated in Study Courses of the RSI (Budapest, Hungary) & Wilfried Martens Center for European Studies (Brussels, Belgium), in 2018 – “International Relations, EaP & Security Affairs” Study Visit, organized by the Estonian School of Diplomacy (Tallinn, Estonia).

Fields of professional expertise include issues of Ukraine's foreign policy, international security (nuclear non-proliferation & nuclear security challenges), international energy relations, energy security & energy diplomacy.

2009 – 2018 – over 30 publications on international issues, mostly dedicated to the foreign policy agenda of Ukraine. Since 2014 she has cooperated with top UA media as an expert in international relations.

Professional activities

Professional career started in 2011 with a position of Claims Department Officer, Expert on Social & Political Issues at PE «J&J» Law Firm in Mariupol, then in Odessa, working with international marine law. Since 2015 Ms. Konstantynova has been working in the public sector, she has been working as an Assistant-Adviser to a Ukrainian MP, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of VIII convocation, Committee on Fuel & Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy & Nuclear Safety, specializing in strategic planning & development of the Ukrainian energy sector. In 2017-2018 Ms. Konstantynova worked at Udovenko Diplomatic Academy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine as Senior Expert of the Centre for International Studies, then Senior Expert of the International Cooperation & Communication Division. Since 2018 she rejoined the Ukrainian MP's Office.
