Viraemia is a pathological technical death metal band from Pheonix, Arizona, formed in 2008. They have released 1 EP in 2009 EP and one single in 2019 Glioblastoma. The band focuses on technical riffs at fast speeds, the lyrics focus on medical conditions and diseases.
History
Founders Josh Hernandez and Scott Plummer were originally from Defiance, Ohio, in late 2007 the pair traveled together to Phoenix and then officially started Viraemia the following year. In 2011, Tony Martinez left the band after experiencing personal issues. After unsuccessfully searching for a new vocalist for over a year, Plummer announced in late 2012 that Viraemia had split up.
Band name origin
Viraemia (the UK spelling variant of viremia) is a medical condition where viruses enter the bloodstream and hence have access to the rest of the body.
Band Members
The band was formed by Josh Hernandez and Scott Plummer. Michael Collins is the original and current drummer for Viraemia. Chad Eklund was the original vocalist from 2008-2009 and was then replaced by Tony Martinez until 2012 when he left the band. Scott Plummer, a extreme bass experimental and technical grind death metal[1] bassist and founder commited suicide on the 24th of March, 2019.
