Vishnu Udayan[1] was born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala on 1st January 1994. Having completed his schooling in Thiruvananthapuram, his hometown, and UG in BA. English in Chennai, Vishnu Udayan moved to Mumbai for a direction training program with Institute of Creative Excellence run by Balaji Telefilms.[2]

Early Life[edit]

Vishnu was born in Thiruvananthapuram where he did his schooling in St.Thomas Higher Secondary School.

Career[edit]

He started his career by making a short film 'Oru Phone Call' in 2012. Since then, he went onto make seven more short films. His short film 'Two Zero One Four' had famous Cine actor Dinesh Prabhakar and Fahim Safar among the cast. After that, in 2018 Vishnu had a glorious festival run with his short film 'Waft' having a festival run of 30 International festivals across the globe and winning 15 awards including the prestigious SIIMA Best Short Film. 'Waft' was also screened at FARCUME festival.

He has also made 14 music videos. He has collaborated with established playback singers such as Manjari, Kavya Ajit and Divya S Menon for their independent and original songs. 'Ninavukal[3]' which was released on 2021 Valentines Day had two girls in the lead narrating a beautiful homosexual love story.

While the world came to a standstill due to Corona Pandemic, Vishnu Udayan and his team never wanted art to stop. He first came up with a 21 episode mini series self shot using mobile phones by the artists. Scripts were sent to budding aspirants of acting and was directed over calls by Vishnu. The series went onto gain media attention. After the mini series, he moved onto make ‘Meghamaayi’ a music video again self shot by the artists. His heroine was from Pune and hero from Thiruvananthapuram. Over several video calls and zoom meetings, he directed the beautiful melody into a lovely music video which went onto be a YouTube hit.

He also assisted Bash Mohammed of Lukka Chuppi fame in his nextfilm ‘Prakasan’ in which Dinesh Prabhakar did the lead role. Besides he also did an episodic film series starring Gibin Gopinath and Madhurima MS.

Vishnu also has an Theater commercial to his name.
