Vision: Science to Applications (VISTA) is a vision science research program at York University sponsored in part by the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF). The VISTA program received $33,338,000 from CF-REF[1] along with undisclosed amounts from York University and partner funding, totaling more than $120 million.[2]

VISTA builds on the world’s leading biological and computer vision interdisciplinary expertise at York. By integrating visual neuroscience with computer vision to drive innovation, VISTA, in collaboration with over 50 academic, public, and for-profit partners from around the world, will propel Canada as a global leader in vision science. VISTA provides opportunities for graduate, post-doctoral, and academic funding to allow cutting-edge research and to build skills and innovations that will help people live healthier, safer, and more secure lives.
