History
Vision Bus was founded in 2008[1] and consisted of numerous school services. In 2015 the company began to expand and now runs the majority of local bus services in Bolton
Operations
Vision Bus operates numerous school and public service routes on behalf of Transport For Greater Manchester and Lancashire County Council. These schools include St James's Church of England High School [2], Thornleigh[3] and Rivington and Blackrod High School[4].
Routes
As of November 2018, Vision operates 17 public service routes in the Greater Manchester area. These include the Bolton Metroshuttle '500'[5], 527 Halliwell Circular [6] and the 571/2 Great Lever Circular [7]
A number of tendered services that Vision run require TFGM funded hybrid vehicles. As of November 2018, Vision operates 5 of these vehicles. 4 are Optare Versa Hybrid Vehicles, and the remaining one is an Optare Solo.
Commercially Operated Routes
Late 2017 saw the first commercially operated Monday- Saturday service commence between Bolton and Halliwell, stopping off at Hall i' th' Wood Railway Station. Early 2018 saw Vision commence an additional 2 more commercially operated services within Bolton. The 571 and 572 services, both Great Lever circulars, will be withdrawn by First Manchester on April 8th[8] However Vision will be taking over the routes and will run them commercially. [9]
Fleet
The fleet consists of a variety of vehicles including Wright Bus, Optare and Alexander Dennis
Depot
The depot is located at Blackrod Station[10]
