Vivamax is a Philippine over-the-top content platform owned and operated by Viva Entertainment.[1]

History[edit]

Vivamax was launched on January 29, 2021 with the aim of providing content to Filipinos abroad. The platform's COO is Ronan de Guzman, who was previously digital media general manager and country manager for the Hong Kong streaming platform Viu.[2]

In 2021, after six months in operation, the service reached 600,000 subscribers and was the top ranked app on Google Play Philippines.[2] Its subscriber base has since increased to 800,000.[3] By the end of 2021 Vivamax will have released 50 films within the year.[4] It plans 15 new releases a week, for an estimated 750 titles each year.[5]

Content[edit]

The platform's content include original films, TV series, documentaries, and concerts. It has around 500 films in its library. Some of the films released on Vivamax also receive theatrical releases.[6] It also features Korean content and Tagalized versions of Hollywood and Asian films.[7]
