He is the founder and CEO of Company Folders and Printwand.[1][2] He has been working in the field of print, design, business communications and small business management over the past decade and participates in print-related conferences and seminars.[3]
Family and Early Life[edit]
Gendelman was born to Anna and Yury Gendelman. He was raised in Kharkov, Ukraine where his family experienced poor living conditions.[4] Gendelman immigrated to the US when he was a teenager. When he moved to Detroit, he worked several jobs like an ice-arena custodian, a demolition worker, a pizza delivery person, a door-to-door salesman, a carpet merchant, and a software developer. He also worked as a grocery bagger for three days.[3]
Gendelman is married to Janet and they have two kids, Noa and Aaron.
Career[edit]
Vladimir Gendelman started his own business in 2003 with little funds, after gaining experience in computer repair. But in 2012, his business lost 80% of their website traffic due to Google’s changing algorithms. He didn’t file for bankruptcy but catered customers into a different area and brought his business, Company Folders, back into smooth running, in 2013.[5]
Gendelman has a varied range of reputable clients which include Sony, Hallmark, Ford, and other Fortune 500 companies, and a multitude of universities and government/non-profit agencies.[6]
Gendelman has written a number of informative pieces on font psychology.[7]
