Voice Of Islam Radio
Voice of Islam Radio is a commercial-free, Islamic radio station run almost entirely by volunteers from across the globe. The radio station is currently broadcasting from Baitul Futuh mosque in London, the largest mosque in Western Europe. It was launched on 7 February 2016 after an inauguration by His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, with the objective of promoting what the Ahmadiyya Community believe to be the true teachings of Islam – those of peace, love, and compassion for all of mankind. According to their website, "the purpose of the Voice of Islam is to inform people of the true teachings of Islam and to make it abundantly clear that Islam’s teachings perfectly conform and relate to the needs of every era and every person. God Willing, the listeners of this radio station will come to recognise that Islam’s teachings are of peace, love and compassion for all of mankind.”
Since its inception in 2016, it has been broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on DAB, initially in London and in Manchester since July 2020; the radio is also accessed through their live-stream on YouTube and through the stream on their official website.
They have had a range of guests on their shows from all sorts of backgrounds, reflecting the span of topics covered by their shows over the years. Although the station has an Islamic base, they have covered a wide range of affairs with the aim of showcasing how Islam’s teachings are intertwined in today’s world. The station isn't interested in jumping on the latest bandwagon for ratings, but in reaching out and spreading the light and knowledge of Islam to the furthest corners of the globe.
The radio broadcasts live as well as recorded content, covering a variety of subjects ranging from discussions on day-to-day news, history, matters of faith, and poetry.
