The Volderer See or Lake Volders is a small lake near the village of Volders, Austria. The lake, which has shrunk significantly, losing a large part of its size, now resembles a pond.[1] The lake has no natural inflow or outflow, and receives water primarily from rain, and also the groundwater of the Inn River. The water quality is moderate, varying between grades B and C, and is often plagued by algae.[1] The lake is surrounded by a small forest, and lies left of church Karlskirche, by the motorway bridge at the entrance of the village Volders.[1] According to a myth, a giant blocked an inflow to the lake with a large boulder, thus resulting in shrinking of its size.[1][2]
