Vrikshit Foundation is a voluntary organization based in New Delhi.[1] The NGO runs cleanliness drives, works to spread awareness about cleanliness and sanitation. conduct wall paintings and organizes tree plantation programs with citizens.[2] It was founded by 22 years old software developer Shankar Singh with the objective to make his city clean.[3] Vrikshit has done many wall makeovers in New Delhi with the message to save environment as a part of their awareness program.[4] The organisation has helped and fed nearly 1 million stray dogs in lockdown. Currently they are visually impared and economically weak students free of cost through their program Education For All.[5]

Recently during coronavirus crisis in India, Vrikshit has worked to help patients to find oxygens, hospital beds, ICU, medicines etc. After the lockdown was imposed in view of Covid-19 pandemic in Delhi, almost 2,000 sex workers have lost their only source of livelihood at Delhi's GB Road. Vrikshit Foundation distributed ration to about 800 families of sex workers.[6][7] The foundation has worked with the Delhi Government on the first dengue campaign of the government #10hafte10baje10minute. The NGO also works with underprivileged children and visually impaired children.[8] It has also supported the Delhi Government's campaign Switch To EV by spreading awareness about electric vehicles through their wall painting.[9]
