Vsevolod Valentinovich Konstantinov (born August 18, 1975, Penza, USSR) - Russian psychologist, Doctor of Psychology (2018), Professor (2020), Head of General Psychology department at Penza State University.[1][2]

Early life[edit]

Vsevolod Valentinovich Konstantinov was born August 18, 1975 in Penza into a family of doctors. Studied at the Penza classical gymnasium №1 named after V.G. Belinsky, from which he graduated in 1992. In 1999 he graduated from Psychology and Social Work Faculty at PSU of V.G. Belinsky.

Career[edit]

In 2004 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on "Dependency of social and psychological adaptation success in forced migrants to new living conditions on the type of residence" topic.

In 2016, he read a lecture course "Russia’s Migration Processes over the Last 30 Years" to students and staff of Stockholm University (Sweden).

In 2018 he defended his thesis for the Doctor of Psychology degree on the topic "Socio-psychological adaptation of migrants in a host multicultural society". [3] In 2020, he was awarded the academic title of professor in the scientific specialty "Social Psychology". He is a member of the Dissertation Council D 212.243.14 at the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Saratov State University named after N. G. Chernyshevsky ".

Range of scientific interests includes problems of migrants and refugees adaptation in new living conditions, psychological aspects of cultural transmission, socio-psychological aspects of personality maladjustment, transformation of a migrant's identity, ethnicity, methodological problems of ethnopsychology, host population, problems of addictive behavior.[4][5][6][7][8][9]

V.V. Konstantinov developed a new scientific concept of migrant’s social and psychological adaptation in a multicultural society, proposed an original typology of adaptation processes.

He is the Chief Editor of a scientific online journal "Penza Psychological Bulletin", a member of editorial board at Frontiers in Psychology / Health Psychology, Frontiers in Psychiatry / Anxiety and Stress Disorders, "Izvestia of Saratov University. New episode. Series Acmeology of Education. Developmental Psychology ”, as well as a member of editorial board at “EC Neurology” journal, and a member of reviewers board at “Behavioral Sciences”, and the “European Journal of Investigation in Health, Psychology and Education”.

V. V. Konstantinov takes part in scientific conferences, congresses, forums, seminars, both in Russia and abroad (USA, England, China, Sweden, Israel, Japan), where he acts as a speaker, member of org. committee, programme committee.
