History
Beginnings as WDAE's FM Translator
On May 6, 2013, Clear Channel Communications announced that Sports station WDAE on 610 AM had an FM Translator on 95.3 MHz to offer better programming on FM broadcasting.[1]
WDAE focusing on FM Radio more than AM Radio
On 2018, WDAE changed it's name to WDAE 95.3 FM & AM 610, making it clear that WDAE was more focused on FM more than AM, and also promoting the IHeartRadio app.[2]
WDAE moving to 95.7 FM and Rumba's Arrival on 95.3
On February 13, 2026, IHeartMedia announced that WRUB and WDAE would swap stations on FM Radio, offering WDAE a better coverage area in Tampa after having a small coverage area in Tampa, this after WRUB's ratings failed on 95.7 FM this leading IHeartMedia to swap stations, acording to IHeartRadio Tampa's market president, "Expanding WDAE’s heritage brand strengthens our long-standing broadcast and marketing partnerships with the Tampa Bay Rays, Buccaneers, Lightning, Florida Gators and USF Bulls. This evolution also reflects our continued commitment to serving Tampa Bay listeners across multiple platforms.", on February 23, 2026, after airing Propuesta Indecente by Romeo Santos, the station swapped to 95.3 FM, welcoming Rumba to 95.3 FM and 102.9 FM.[3]
