Wadih al-Maskin
Wadih al-Maskin was an eighth-century official of the Abbasid Caliphate.
Wadih al-Maskin was originally a client (mawla) of Salih ibn al-Mansur. He was appointed governor for the Abbasids in Armenia and Adharbayjan around 775 and in Egypt in 779. In Egypt he is said to have helped the later Moroccan sultan Idris ibn Abdallah to escape his Abbasid pursuers to the Maghreb. For this Wadih al-Maskin was beheaded and crucified in 786.[1]
