Walia (caste)

Walia (Kalal[1]) is a Historical Community belonging to the Kalchuri Dynasty who ruled over several parts of India during different times. After losing their kingdoms to other rulers and invaders the community people adopted liquor selling as their profession and are known as Kalal due to their liquor business. However, they belong to the Royal Kalchuri Kshatriya Dynasty which is one of the most important dynasties of India.

Due to counteracting mingling with male elders of Sikh elites, they came to be known as epithetical forefathers of Ahluwalia Sardars[2] in the “Indian region of Punjab”. Prior to the partition, most of their landholdings resided at Jatland were replanned by the bureaucratic forces of Patiala state.

Religious beliefs

Although their nature is distortable from multifaceted clergy practitioners, they still attained the embarrassing of Jathera worship of Baba Kala Meher Sandhu, due to his illegitimate bonding with womanly figure of the Ahluwalia community.
