Debourou was born in Orsay, France, and raised in Cotonou, Benin. At age 13, he returned to France and joined the youth academies of FC Bourg-Péronnas and AC Boulogne-Billancourt.[6][7] He later moved to the United States and attended Blair Academy, a private boarding school in New Jersey, graduating in 2012.[8] While in high school, he also played for NY Red Bulls Academy and PDA.[9][10]
