Walker Scobell (born 2009) is an American actor. He gained global recognition for starring in The Adam Project. He has been cast as Percy Jackson in the upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson & the Olympians. Born in the USA, Walker's acting debut was in The Adam Project starring actors such as Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo. Reportedly his passion for acting came about in a drama class in elementary school and was inspired to begin his acting career after visiting California..[1]
Family[edit]
Family wise, he was born into a military family[2] and lives with his mother (Heather Melissa Scobell), father (Peter W. Scobell), brother, and older sister. He has lived all over the states and thoroughly enjoys sports such as swimming, lacrosse, skiing, skateboarding and parkour. He is known as a witty, funny and comedic person and has "always done everything he can to make other people laugh".
Career[edit]
In early August 2021, Scobell auditioned for his role in the Adam Project[3], he had previously auditioned for tv shows before but this was his first action film. Scobell's ability to easily mimic Reynolds is what landed him his first acting gig despite the "hundreds and hundreds of kids" that had auditioned for the role[4] His breakout role in The Adam Project is what led him to be cast as Percy Jackson in the much anticipated Disney+ series[5]. On the 28th of January 2022, author of the Percy Jackson series, Rick Riordan, broke the news to Scobell and his family via Zoom[6]. Filming for the series will take place in June where Scobell and soon to be castmates will be filming in Vancouver[7]
