A Wammetje is a cocktail containing limoncello, prosecco, and sparkling water. Usually, a Wammetje has 2 or 3 added lemon wedges, ice cubes and is poured into a Poco Grande glass. The Wammetje is a derivative of a Spritz Veneziano, originating back to 1920 in Venice[1]. Traditionally, this cocktail is made using Select, but has since been switched with other drinks such as Aperol and Campari. Ultimately swapping out the other bitters like Select for limoncello is what created a Wammetje.
