Warintil are an Indonesian sketch comedy group comprising Bagus Sujiwo, Insaf Putra, Putra Samuel Silitonga, Irwansyah Damanik, Aris Priadi and Sumiati. The group performs on online platforms. The group initially wrote, shot, and edited a new sketch every week, releasing it for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.
History
Warintil was first established in 2012 when they performed in front of a live audience in Medan Fair, a shopping mall in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The original members were Putra Samuel Silitonga, Insaf Putra, Purwadi and Irwansyah Damanik.[1][2].
They also performed live on Bigo Live, a streaming platform, where they met Bagus Sujiwo and Aris Priadi[3]
In 2018, the group decided to start recording their performances and publishing them on YouTube. At first, they did not reach many viewers. Later on, they decided to create comedy content called "Kontrakan Rempong".
Kontrakan Rempong uses Indonesian and Malay conversation centered on the five characters of Warintil. The comedy sketches presented are also not far from everyday life in the rental house and its surroundings. Irwan said the reason for choosing to do women's activities was because of their interest in seeing the variety and uniqueness that was done every day[4].
On October 15, 2019, the group created a second YouTube channel called WARINTIL TEAM BARBAR. This channel’s content mostly consists of Behind the Scenes footage when recording for the main channel and also some variety content like games, challenges and culinary.
On June 6, 2022, one of the original members, Purwadi, died of illness[5]. In December 2023, Warintil Official YouTube channel officially passed 10 million subscribers.

Episodes
As of January 2024, Warintil has published 750 episodes. Currently, they first publish on YouTube and concurrently on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. New video schedules are every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10am Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7).
